Pure Spanish Mares
Navarra UVF (Banbury Brio x Arisca IV)
1992 PRE Mare, Grey, Approved for breeding (revised) by the Cria Caballar
de España
Navarra was bred by Unicorn Valley Farm (UVF), and purchased by Elysian
Acres Andalusians in Pflugerville, Texas as a broodmare. Navarra is very true
to breed type, and she is the dam of my mare, Odilona BFM. Navarra is still
owned by Elysian Acres, but is leased to me for breeding. Her outstanding
2008 filly by Odilon JIM--Bibiana BFM--is for sale.
Asphodel EA (Centella VI x Odisea IX)
1994 PRE Mare, Grey, Approved for breeding (revised) by the Cria Caballar
de España
Asphodel ("Addie") was bred by Elysian Acres Andalusians and trained to the
FEI level by Sherry Spielmaker. Addie's movement rivals that of any
horse--stallion or mare--of any breed. She is still owned by Elysian Acres and
leased to me for breeding. Being an older maiden mare when first bred, I
had trouble getting her in foal until this year.

Leyenda EA (Naranjero XXIII x Respetuosa UVF)
2001 PRE Mare, Grey, Approved for breeding (revised) by PRE Mundial
Leyenda was bred by Elysian Acres Andalusians and retained by owner
Sherry Spielmaker as a dressage prospect. When health and related issues
forced the closure of her farm, I was honored that Sherry offered me the
chance to buy this mare before posting her for sale generally. Leyenda is a
sporthorse style PRE with huge, ground-covering gaits and a wonderful,
willing temperament. Her 2007 colt by Odilon JIM--Teofilo BFM--is an even
better mover, and he is for sale.

Orquidea EA (Odilon JIM x Odisea IX)
2002 PRE Mare, Grey
Orquidea's dam, Odisea IX, was plagued by cancer as she aged, and her
foals became increasingly smaller. Orquidea, being her last foal, was the
smallest of all and weighed only 40 pounds at birth. Dubbed "Peanut" due
her diminutive size, Orquidea was never able to overcome these initial
deficits, maturing out at 14.1 hands. Because she does not meet the
minimum height requirement for basic breeding approval, Orquidea was not
presented for registration in the Spanish stud book.
What she lacks in height, though, she more than makes up for with her
arguably world class movement. The two foals she has produced thus far are
of normal size and remarkable in their beauty, movement, and temperament.
Both foals--a 2007 Azteca D gelding (Blue Fire Moon's Maní) and a 2008
PRE filly (Alfonsine BFM) are reluctantly for sale.

Apolonaria BFM (Odilon JIM x Respetuosa UVF)
2003 PRE Mare, Grey, Approved for breeding (revised) by PRE Mundial
"Polly" was my first PRE mare. She is a very correct mover with a natural
extension. Polly was 2nd place 3 year old PRE mare at the 2006 Pin Oak
Charity Horse Show and also won the Gold Medal Movement Award in her
class (overall score, 76%).
Her first foal, the 2008 PRE colt, Agapito BFM by Saltador ORO, was sold to
USDF Gold Medalist, Megan Georges, of Georgetown, Texas. Polly was bred
this year to the pure Cardenas stallion, Bandolero SAC for a March 2009 foal.

Odilona BFM (Odilon JIM x Navarra UVF)
2005 PRE Mare, Grey, Approved for breeding (revised) by PRE Mundial
Odilona is perhaps the best mare at Blue Fire Moon Farm in terms of breed
type. She has the conformation of the old-fashioned heavy-set PRE, but the
movement of her sportier sire, Odilon. Odilona won her yearling PRE class
and the Gold Medal Movement Award with a score of 79% at the 2006 Pin
Oak Charity Horse Show.
